Summary
When Rebecca finds herself the unwitting owner of a lamp that comes fit with its very own genie, she decides to make the most of her (incredibly) unbelievable circumstances. Her first wish?
That her ex-husband's beloved Greyhounds will never win another game.
Unfortunately for her, said genie comes armed with a conscience.

Summary
Rebecca wakes more relaxed than she has in an age. Every single muscle in her body is practically boneless, slack with an ease she hasn’t felt in years. To her half-awake brain, it’s as though she is swaddled in a soft blanket of comfort and security, so blissfully, mindlessly happy that she feels as though every single outlying stress from her day-to-day life has simply melted and trickled away.
The gentle pulse of that sheer, raw relief has her stretching her legs down toward the end of the mattress, arms reaching up and back, her spine curling, catlike, in a luxurious, lazy arch. The tranquility of it is nearly enough to make her weep. Such a gentle, serene awakening. Somehow, instinctually, she knows she is safe, that she is trusted. That she trusts in return. She knows she has nothing to fear with Ted, and that alone is a first for her.
She has never trusted anyone so openly, so completely, as she does him.

Summary
"We will return home as we planned, and then Mother and Father will both follow.” Gladys felt a strange mixture of pride and shame flicker through her as she realized just how much she sounded like Mother as she spoke. So self-confident, planning, plotting. She was mildly horrified to realize she rather relished the feeling.
Her parents were, after all, currently at odds. The two people in her life who had left such a lasting impression of how important a role love could truly play in a marriage—at odds with each other. Separated, even, Father having retreated to his ridiculous club and Mother all but holing herself up in the house on 61st.
It simply would not do.

Summary
How long did it take for a heart to break?
(The answer was instantly, as Rebecca Welton’s bright green eyes welled with unshed, poorly-concealed tears and she dragged him into a hug that he would swear he’d feel down to his bones until the end of his days, her face tucked against his neck and her palms pressed flat against his back).
So yeah. Instantly. Perpetually. Take your pick. All Ted knew was that he had Messed Up, and had absolutely no idea whatsoever as to how to make anything better without also making everything worse.

Summary
He’d existed for centuries. It should’ve been easy. But the thought of slidin’ out from beneath the disapproving scrutiny of his babes’s parental units….damn did it make an old demon feel young again. Not that he had anything against them. Chuck had been surprisingly cool, once it was all said and done, and even A-dog and Babs had been nice once they saw how much he made Lydia laugh.
But still. Yeah. Parents were parents. And when they were the parents of a barely of-age Gothy teen with more attitude than they knew what to do with and a demonic best friend, well….he really couldn’t freaking blame them, could he? Heck, he didn’t trust himself with himself, let alone with Lyds.
He'd screw something up; he always did.

Summary
Ted walks away from her, hands shoved in his pockets, hunched over and looking so much smaller than she ever thought he could—all that energy and optimism and sunshine whittled away into the man walking away from her.
The decision to leave the karaoke club behind and to follow him back to the hotel, in the end, is an easy one.
(Or, an alternate take on "Make Rebecca Great Again" in which Rebecca follows Ted back to the hotel and something happens to change the course of their relationship.)

Summary
Ted Lasso hands her his resignation--this time on typed, neat letterhead with this loopy signature scrawled at the bottom--along with the unsigned offer for a contact extension she'd sent him last week and the recipe for the biscuits he brings her every morning.
"It's not that I don't appreciate the offer," he says, voice thick with emotion and eyes glassy. "But I've got a little boy counting on me back home and--"
"No, no, don't be silly. I should have known."
(Or, Ted doesn't extend his contract with AFC Richmond and Rebecca learns to let go.)

Summary
prompt: the beginning of tedbecca through facetime/video chats and texts
//
He stares down at the blue and gray bubbles, blurring as they go in and out of focus through the haze of whiskey.
The last timestamp says May 2 and he aches a little bit with the fact that it's been three months since they even spoke like this, let alone over the phone or, God forbid, in person. That ache moves his fumbling fingers and suddenly the newest timestamp says Now and when he looks at the message, his nauseous stomach turns even more.
I miss you.
