Summary
Uatu, The Watcher, swore an oath never to interfere. And yet, he cannot help himself. The world he looks after is not perfect, but it tries, and there is beauty in their courage and in their love. He wants to save them, but he can't. That's not to say he can't give them the tools to save themselves, though.
OR: The Avengers and a few others are taken by the Watcher to observe their Anchor Being's life so they can return with knowledge to save their world in preparation for Dr. Doom.

"Stay away from me!" Peter belted from his crouched stance on the window sill.
"Peter, calm down," Tony pleaded, stretching out his arm as he slowly inched his way toward his petrified kid.
"No, no, no! Stay back! I'm... Dangerous," Peter cried.
"What... What are you talkin about, Pete? You'd never hurt --"
"You don't know. You...you don't know. I can't..." Peter gripped clumps of his hair. Frantic.
" Peter... You need to breathe---"
"Don't! Don't come any closer!"
"...Peter---"
"No, no! I'm not in control!" Peter was suddenly startled, looking around the room like he heard something no one else did. "Get out! Get out of my head!"
And with that, Tony finally stopped. In fact, he took a few steps back.

Tony’s blood went cold. Spider-Man was delirious, delirious enough to see his father where Tony stood. “Dad,” he cried again, voice trembling and childlike, yet more urgent and sure. “Sorry to disappoint,” he responded half heartedly, opening the door to the med wing, “But it's just Tony Stark. You don’t like me very much.”
Spider-Man watched him with those creepy eyes. “No,” the hero murmured, “I love you. Y’re like my dad. Jus’ hur’s being near you. Cause-” he drew in a rattling, painful breath. “-You don’ remember.”
