Summary
Demons were known to be able to shape shift into animals. Crowley had shifted into a snake to tempt Eve to eat the apple in the Garden of Eden. His dark serpent form was unlike any God-made creature on Earth. He, however, could also change into a cat as well. A black and orange cat was the perfect form for the demon because he could then go around and knock glasses off of people's counters and be a menace.
A little known fact is that angels could change their form into animals as well. Crowley had the honor to see Aziraphale in his two animal forms. The first was a small white plump dove that he used when he was watching the apples in the Garden of Eden. The second was a white-golden dog that he used to slip through crowds in crowded cities where his human form would stick out like a sore thumb.
However, there is a form of Crowley's that Aziraphale had yet to encounter. It was a form that Crowley kept hidden and rarely used.

Shifting slightly, Tommy was able to see the chicken plush clearer. There was a tear on one of the wings where it was barely still hanging by a thread. It must have gotten ripped when Michael fell.
“Oh, did your chicken get hurt?” Tommy asked softly, Michael nodded, he squeezed his eye shut and hiccuped.
“Hey, hey, don’t worry,” Tommy took the chicken gently from Michael’s hands, treating it carefully, “it’s okay. We can fix him.”

When taking care of Michael for the day, Michael accidentally rips his chicken plush. Good thing Tommy's there to patch it up.
