Law didn't answer. He moved his hand, shrinking the Room to only encompass Luffy's abdomen. He wasn't sure what his face was doing, but probably nothing good as Luffy leaned closer and blinked at him.
"Torao?"
"There's a second set of vitals."
Perhaps he should have been more explicit, but he wasn't sure if he was going to scream or just chalk this off as another Strawhat bullshit.
"What do you mean, a second set of vitals?" Kidd asked, coming even closer.
Law still hadn't looked away from the Scan."I mean that when I scan Luffy-ya, I am picking up a secondary set of vital signs that are not his. In a place where they should not be." His last words probably echoed a bit strangled, but he didn't care.
Luffy blinked. Looked down at his stomach. Looked back up at Law. And grinned, that large, wide smile of his that Law usually loved but now just made him want to scream. And something else. Something he wasn't sure if it was fleeing in terror or falling to his knees in thanks to gods he no longer believed in.
"Oh! Like a baby?"

Perhaps observing him sitting on the deck, clutching at his skull, is enough to reassure the little boy that Brook is no threat. He cautiously clambers aboard, sword clutched in one hand, and leans forward to give Brook’s nearest foot a poke with the tip of his blade. The sheer absurdity of it should be enough to make anyone laugh, but the skeleton manages to restrain himself. “You- are you dead?”
“In a sense, yes! But also technically, no! Yohohoho!” Well, at least he restrained himself momentarily. With no hat to doff, Brook settles for sweeping his arms about and bowing from his seated position. “Humming Brook, last remaining member of the Rumbar Pirates, at your service!”
The boy’s eyes grow very wide. He stares at Brook for a long moment, before glancing about the rather tattered ship, and seems to come to something of a decision. “If you’re a pirate, I should arrest you.” Ah. That does not sound promising. “But... If I rescue you instead, that means you owe me a debt?”
Judging by his immediate grimace, the child didn’t mean for that to come out as a question.

Foolish. Foolish, stupid, short-sighted - thinking a kid who’d grown up at sea would be appropriately wary of storms, would know how to take shelter and stay put. Assuming that Franky would give Aqua Laguna the same respect as those who’d grown up in Water 7. Not that Tom counted among their number either, of course, being a native of Fishman Island; but it only took one experience with the fearsome annual storm to hammer home the seriousness of her strength.
One time out in the howling wind and powerful waves for a fishman meant some bruises the next day, where he’d gotten slammed against underwater buildings a few times.
One time out in the storm for a tiny, scrawny, slip of a human child would mean certain death.

Sengoku had said something, slurred it more like and had moved to make a promise. To always have Garp's back in missions perhaps, or something similar. He didn't get to finish his words; Garp had stopped him mid-way and with more seriousness than he had ever before and after showed, demanded in no uncertain terms that Sengoku should never promise him anything.
"D promises are different. You don't wanna go make one randomly. And never to me, got it?"
Promises to the bearers of the Will of D are binding even beyond Death. Garp still makes one.

Penguin sniggers. He’s seated upside-down upon the shorter sofa, legs hanging over the backrest, and can just barely stretch far enough to pat Jean Bart’s shoulder where the bigger man is stretched out across the padded floor. “When Tang tells you that someone else is ‘persnickety’, that’s really saying something.”

Zeff’s too tired to bristle at a feisty little radish taking that tone with him, but he does raise a single judgemental eyebrow. Before he can take the brat to task or say I’m always nice towards a lady, though, another young voice laughs. From a door across the room, two more kids appear: another girl with blue hair, a few shades darker than Nojiko’s while her skin’s a fair bit lighter, and slumped against her a pale boy with blond curls and linen bandages wrapped around his chest. “Ace, you’re telling someone else to be polite?”
Heh. Brat’s face turns just as bright red as his shirt. “Shut up, Sabo.”

“We need a doctor,” the first kid says as soon as he leaps ashore.
Pipsqueak can’t be any older than Nojiko; he’s small and slight, physically clean but with a sort of rough edge that Bellemere remembers all too well from her hoodlum days. Brat is keeping his hands clenched and down by his sides, but there’s a cutlass almost as tall as he attached to a wide leather belt slung across his chest, the sort of thing that could cause all sorts of damage even in the hands of someone who can’t properly wield it.
The boy and girl flanking him have their own swords, and look a little more serious with them. But Bell focuses on the first kid, the way he’s identified Genzo as the person to talk to at the front of their small crowd, the posture that practically screams he’ll get what he wants one way or another.
The way his hands, even clenched, are trembling.

Buggy barely remembered a time when he did not have to tip-toe around the curse.
It was weird as fuck and a big part of him hated Captain for being the reason he was cursed in the first place, but it wasn’t like Roger had even known what they'd find on that island. It was supposed to be safe. Not end up with him and Shanks in the med bay for a week. Still, shit had gone down, as it often did with the Roger Pirates and at the end of the day Buggy ended up cursed for life because of a disgruntled rival pirate crew and an even more disgruntled witch.
Nothing to do about it other than move on. And shriek internally now and then.
So yeah, it sucked but he knew how to deal with it. Was lucky that at least the unflashy assholes who cursed him made it so he had to listen only to the commands of people he cares about. Which were precious few as it was. Most were dead, the rest had abandoned him and Buggy couldn't even tell if he gave a shit about them anymore, and his crew knew how to tiptoe around the curse.
Or 5 times people did not know Buggy was cursed + 1 time they knew and chose not to take advantage of it

A call which Rayleigh knows, even before answering, isn’t anything good.

Ever since Captain got her in a bet, ever since he poured his love to tend to her, ever since she got to know Deuce and Banshee and Skull and Mihar and them. She's always been angry; because she loves her crew even if they chose another captain and another ship, but her Captain was angry when he got her. An angry child that grew in an angry teenager hiding his anger with a veneer of politeness and now he is an angry young man dying for the sins of another.
And she is his ship.

Felt like Marineford two years ago when he had answered that asshole's question without meaning to, but at that time he had been more interested in making sure both Ace and Luffy made it out alive. Not that the brats hadn't giving him enough frights for a lifetime until they did.
Buggy sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He had to test it.
"Anything wrong, clown?" Mihawk asked as he uncorked a bottle of Dreessrosa red wine. Some aged vintage that the former warlord swore by and Buggy personally believed tasted like old socks.
Try a lie.
"Your wine is-" the best I have ever tasted, he wanted to say, but what ended up was. "I don't know how you can drink that vinegar, Hawkeyes. It smells like something died in the barrel and the colour's gone muddy."
Well. Fucking Grandline. Cursed coins it was. And apparently ones who made him tell the truth. He'd simply have to stay as far away from his partners as possible until whatever this was ran its course.
