By August of 2020 the B.A.U. is already stretched thin and all but split up, so Spencer can't say he is entirely surprised that he's being sent on a solo assignment. The subject of that assignment, however, is not one he would have ever chosen. Not in a million years. But this isn't the first miracle The B.A.U. has been asked to pull off, and maybe on paper it doesn't sound like the most difficult.
In practice, however, he isn't sure it's possible to rehabilitate Cat Adams.

Summary
Alex and Henry are newly engaged and planning their wedding as Alex's first Congressional election is coming up. While Henry is done with being in the spotlight, he's always knew that to love Alex, he'll have to continue to be. But as the wedding approaches, it eats at him as he realizes Alex and him want different lives. Alex, meanwhile is too wrapped up in politics to see how much Henry is suffering, and in his attempt to balance being everything to everyone, turns to vice. Will this be the thing that tears them apart? How can they both be happy if one of them has to sacrifice the life they have always desired?

This fic uses the same first 150 words as "When Autumn Leaves" but then diverges. It is a completely separate work. :)
The idea was from Qiqi in a Spoilers-book-discussion: What if Lucy & Lockwood slept together when he visited her at her tooting mews bedsit? Then 5 months later at the med check after Fittes they found out she was pregnant.
(Basically I ended up writing out two different versions of that story and they're both in this series.)
