Summary
“Who’s absolutely not, capitalized, with three exclamation marks at the end?” asks Auguste, frowning at Damen's phone.
Damen shoots out of his seat, tripping over Pallas’s foot in his haste, who yelps in complaint, to snatch his phone from Auguste's hands. “No one important,” he makes up on the spot, and immediately regrets it.
Auguste makes a confused sort of face, trying to make sense of Damen's awkwardness as he rounds the tea table and leaves for the kitchen. “Are you not going to answer?” he asks over his shoulder.
With a mournful look at the lit up screen ringing in his hand, Damen says, self explanatorily. “No, absolutely not.”

Summary
His hand was on the cupboard handle when the door opened. Damen froze, motionless for a moment before his other reflexes kicked in to spin him around. Just a cleaner, probably, went his racing mind in that split second whirl of panic. They’d have a bit of awkwardness, a bit of a laugh, and take away a funny story to tell their colleagues later. They’d understand.
But no. He should have known. There was only one person who ever barged into his office like that without knocking.
“Damianos, I saw you come in. I need you to—”

Summary
Damen and Laurent have been ruling together for seasons. The visiting Patran lord is only a minor inconvenience.
Damen clenched his fist. “Did you only plan this because you thought I was upset with you—or because you knew I had been watching Lord Aster?”
“I,” Laurent started. “No. I only… I needed an opening. I have always—” He gathered himself, lifting an eyebrow. “Well?”
Damen pondered this. He scooped up the other end of the chain with his right hand. “Where should I put this?”

Summary
In hindsight, Damen should have seen the signs. That there is no bouncer at the door but a guy selling actual tickets. That the door has actual glass in it one can see through. That they are just in time for the second half, and that, of course, no phones are to be used. Nikandros drags Damen past all of this until they end up in a dark room with people on a stage, and they fall into the closest seats available. It takes them a few long moments to realise where they have ended up.
“Nik,” says Damen, “I think this is a—"
Another person enters the stage and Damen’s mind goes blank.Drunk out of their minds after a night out, Nikandros and Damen mistake a theatre for a strip club, and Damen falls in love with the actor on stage. Which poses a problem, for Laurent de Vere famously does not date. But what if he takes a leap of faith, just this once, to prove that all athletes are the same anyway?
Little do they know what they are getting themselves into.
