She didn't have plans, per se, but her expectations of Vegas are spoiling by the minute. All things considered, the company could be better.

“Observation only," she's told.

“Do not get involved," they urge, and in her case, repeatedly.

These words settle at the back of her mind as she sprints through a dimly-lit backstreet in Nairobi with a five-year-old boy cradled tight to her chest. He trembles with a mixture of fear and stress, and from the way he's made of skin and bone, malnutrition.

The orders are clear—do not engage—but in her eyes, inaction is unthinkable.

“So?” Lila retorted. “We can still kick her stupid face in. Daddy says if someone starts a fight, I can finish it. And she started it.”

“Brawling ballerinas isn’t in the playbill today,” Natasha warned. She stood, toed off her shoes, and kicked them aside. Clint would kill her…. “But I know how we can shut her up.”

Written for the prompt: Early in their partnership, Clint is stuck on a job in Malaysia, Laura and Cooper are home with the flu, that leaves Natasha alone to go to Lila's dance recital. She just has to show up, right?
