    Ann's favorite thing about Finland had to be her nanny Helena. She was young and pretty and way funnier than any of the other nannies she'd had. She would always let Ann stay up late on the weekends, would put on cool American music with throaty thumping basslines and paint Ann's nails whatever color or style she asked for. Even red! Her old nannies never let her do red. Helena's bedtime stories were also definitely things about her own life, just with the names switched around, but that just made them better. Way better than the folk tales her other nannies used to tell her about mysterious gods and angry men.
