Summary
Levi saw Erwin through a computer screen, where sand and sun had kissed his flesh, stained his cheeks and neck. He looked so beautiful like that, even though he was on the other side of the world fighting a war that Levi didn’t believe in. But he believed in Erwin, always had. The man had these visions of grandeur, this idea that he owed someone something, this unrelenting sense of devotion that he would burn himself down for.
There wasn’t much Levi put his faith in: he worshipped no god, prayed no prayers, didn’t wish on shooting stars nor copper coins tossed to water fountains. But he believed in Erwin with a force he couldn’t yield or contain. Wherever those blue eyes looked, Levi would look also. So when Erwin whispered in his ear before stepping onto that plane, bidding his husband goodbye, saying ‘I’ll come home to you, my love’, Levi took it as more than a promise. He took it as gospel; written in stone and blood and cosmic stardust.
I’ll come home to you, my love.

Summary
Levi doesn’t tell people he loves them.
It’s a rule. A principle, even. Because an “I love you” is permenant. It’s irreversible. You say it once and there’s no room for a “just kidding,” not if you fancy yourself a decent person. I love you is a promise. There’s no backing out of I love you. And that is a terrifying thought.

Summary
“Levi,” Erwin said. Levi regarded him calmly, one eyebrow lifted in expectation. He was sitting in the very center of his bed, elbows on his knees. Casual, at first glance.
“It’s going to be a public flogging, tomorrow at noon.”
“Okay,” Levi said, voice flat. Erwin couldn’t tell if he was surprised or not, if he was afraid. His eyes roved over Erwin’s face hatefully, but he gave nothing else.

Summary
Three left. Sky dealt better with his anxiety and breathing issues when distracted, and he'd probably tire himself out and end up falling asleep sooner rather than later. Sky's coddling was most of the care Four needed, as well; mentally, Warriors knocks Four – the person – off his list of people to take care of.
Injuries, now. Some of the tension leaks from Warriors's frame. Injuries are easy, now, familiar, no matter who he's treating. The current lack of healing items should stress him out, but that, too, comes with a strange tinge of comfort; they'd never had enough supplies during the war effort, perpetually using more than they could gather.
Familiarity was comforting. That didn't mean it was good.
