Summary
Just one selfish decision led to the death of everyone Percy cared about. He chose to stay a few extra days on Calypso's Island, hoping for a moments reprieve from the weight of the world. This led to the destruction of Camp Half-Blood, and Percy was too late to save it. Years later, stuck in a multiversal "Void", somebody named Hazel Levesque claims to have known another version of him and wants to recruit him for an upcoming battle. Why can't he just be left to wallow in his own self-pity?

Basically, I had the idea of combining Deadpool and Wolverine with PJO. Percy serves as Logan, Hazel as Laura (but she is NOT his daughter), and Leo as Deadpool (only in a flashback). The fic is based on the campfire scene where Laura talks with Logan, and Logan reveals what happened to the X-Men. So just to be clear, NO X-Men are actually in this fic - only PJO characters!

Part 3 of the series ("Having a god for a big brother is fun and not at all terrifying") where Estelle is in Percy's place and Percy is a god. We're now in The Titan's Curse! Honestly, the fic is mostly drama and conversations bc we find out that Estelle is the reincarnation of Percy's dead daughter, and Thalia is the reincarnation of his wife from Ancient Greece along with Luke and Annabeth being the reincarnation of their kids 😭. WILD stuff. Also, Percy goes on the quest bc Estelle AND Annabeth have to hold up the sky. Seeing literally everyone except for Zoe blame Percy for "not being there" gets annoying, but don't worry bc that starts to stop about halfway through 👍

***Percy falls into Tartarus alone! GREAT writing! Percy isn't some mouthy badass in here; he's quiet, calculating, and scarily efficient. Percy is alone for half the time, in which we see him slowly lose his humanity (but NOT in a "insane!Percy kind of way, more of a "Dexter" type of murderer...). A great section to show this: "He'd returned the favor. And he felt nothing about it. No satisfaction. No guilt. No anger. Just... nothing." Eventually, Bob comes is sad bc he sees that Percy is barely Percy anymore. Everything is treated with the correct seriousness and gravity, including the fact that if Percy dies, then he will spend eternity tortured in the pit. The scene where he has to go to see Akhlys and then Nyx is genuinely ominous and foreboding! <<< All of this is JUST in CH.1! That's how long and great the chapters are :D. --- As for the rest of the fic, to summarize: Angst + PTSD + calculating, efficient beatdowns. --- The penultimate chapter is AGONIZING bc we know that Percy made a deal with Nyx and Erebus that he can't get out of, but we don't know exactly what it is. Last chapter we do, and thankfully it's NOT eternal torture...he has to raise his and Nyx's child, hidden from everything else and watched 24/7 by Nyx. It's a Lovecraftian type of horror, but at LEAST Nyx promised that he will go to the Underworld when he dies. Though, we never get to see this.
So, bittersweet ending!
