Or: After Dennis ends things with Robby and Jack, which he definitely does for their benefit, it takes him some time to adjust. The hookups do their job, somehow. Until instead of sex, he earns a few fists to his face.

Summary
Dennis Whitaker is fine.
Completely fine.
Perfectly fine, actually.
Please ignore the nausea, the fever, the tremor, the concerning neurological symptoms, and the fact that he may or may not be accidentally poisoning himself at work.The resulting medical emergency, however, does expose one additional problem: Dennis and Robby are apparently the last people in the hospital to realise they are not subtle.

Summary
The last time Dennis had a conversation with Robby before the day they tumbled down a bridge together was a little over a year ago. It was minutes before dawn. The hallway light was just bright enough to illuminate the horror in the older man’s eyes.
“I’m sorry,” he said to Dennis, choking on the words and rubbing a palm over his eyes. His chest was heaving with breaths as if he'd just witnessed the end of the world instead of holding Dennis naked in his arms.

When the patient in front of him finally turned around though, he was happy about the progress for about three seconds, until his eyes began to look him over and noticed the object that was taken out of one of the jacket's pockets.
A large pocket knife pointing at him.
"I need drugs. Morphine. Fentanyl. Whatever you got," the man said.

Or: Dennis is being held at knifepoint by a patient, is surprisingly chill about it, and a lot less so in the aftermath. Luckily for him, there are people around him he can lean on.
