"Didn't think you'd reach out again," Frank says after a long silence, his voice rougher than it was minutes ago.
"Honestly, I didn't either."
"What changed?"
Matt parts his lips, ready to offer some excuse, but in the end he only shrugs. "I don't know. Maybe I'm feeling nostalgic."
"And in your moment of nostalgia, you chose to call me of all people." It's not a question, though it comes out quieter than usual. Matt shrugs again, even if Frank can't see it.
"Who else could it be?" Matt lets out a smile, a small thing edged with bitterness and faint self-mockery.
(Or, since he was nine years old, Matt has learned to let go. Some things are easier; others not so much.)

This broke me.
But it's the deepest, best emotional written fratt story, i've ever read. I honour the author my freaking life, or at least a thank you for this beautiful masterpiece.
To get the emotionally borders of a depression is so hard to describe and again I suffered but it was so much worth it.

The words landed behind him like a drop of cold water down his spine. Eddie froze mid-step, shoulders locking tight. The heat crawled up the back of his neck again, mortifying and immediate.
“You were moving,” Venom went on, voice steady, analytical, almost gentle in his matter-of-fact tone. It sounded like he was logging data, as if Eddie’s humiliation was just another entry in some strange, private report.
Eddie exhaled sharply through his nose, the sound halfway between a sigh and a growl, and forced himself to move again. “Vee, I don’t really want to get into this right—”
“And you said my name.”

He’s shaken back into the present when Frank pushes Matt’s chin up with the gun. Matt gasps at the feeling, being pushed around with a gun should not be that not.“God, you’re really into this, Red.” Frank says, sounding already out of breath. “You really like having your life in my hands, huh?”
Matt just gives a grin back. He very much does like that, and he trusts Frank to keep Matt’s life safe, through thick and thin. It gives him another fuzzy feeling, one softer than the burst of heat the gun gives him.
