Summary
Xie Lian is used to putting on performances. When a new theater is celebrating its grand opening, he chooses to put on a show in order to earn some tips. However, he soon finds out that there is a curse befalling some of the nobles who have attended the pre-opening performances at the theater which caused them to fall into a trance, unable to be awoken.
Together with Hua Cheng, and a group of rambunctious kids, they seek to get to the bottom of the curse in hopes of stopping it before everyone who attends the grand opening is afflicted.

Summary
Xie Lian was not upset about what he lost. He swore up and down that he didn’t mind being immortal, ashes wrapped around his neck. Not a god anymore. Not really. So, Xie Lian made a home on a mountain, plagued with white flowers that sprouted from his blood and his footsteps, twisting along every pathway. Another ghost came to live with him, between the flowers and the trees and winding river Xie Lian kept thinking of drowning in. He said his name was San Lang. It wasn’t. It was actually Hua Cheng, but Xie Lian didn’t know how to bring that up. It wasn’t as important as everything else—gardens, flowers, silver butterflies, and sorting out his dreams from his perilous reality. Hua Cheng made space, and Xie Lian let him.
Dead god, very dead follower. It was almost funny.
He wasn’t sure what to do, seeing as he did not plan to ascend again, did not plan to ever hold power over a kingdom. Xie Lian wasn’t staying forever. The mountain would open up, and he would leave to become something catastrophic. Or he would finally disperse. Who was he to say?
(or: xie lian dies, becomes a calamity, ascends to the heavens against his wishes, and finally makes his life flourish between his thumbs and a ghost’s smile.)

“Uhh—You’re Zanka, right?” Enjin could've sworn that the suicidal teen he talked out of that well sounded like a guy; they talked for a decent amount of time, so he should be able to tell.
Said teen stood in front of him now, and Enjin wondered if he had it all wrong. The well that he—or she—maybe they?—hid themselves in was a dark place, so Enjin couldn't exactly get a full grasp of their appearance.
