"So, where are we? Or did you just get lost again and needed to stop for directions?" Calypso asked, raising one eyebrow. In her simple white T-shirt and jeans, I believe she looked, if possible, even more stunning than she did with the whole "perfect island princess" look going on.
I swept a curly, dark lock of hair out of my face before replying, "Well, I did need a new supply of Fonzies, and decided you might want to have a more formal first day out of Ogygia, y'know?"
I bowed dramatically deeply, reaching a hand out to her, which she laughed and playfully pushed away. I stood up, and to my surprise, she laced her hand through mine.
(Takes place somewhere between Blood of Olympus and The Dark Prophecy. Leo is flying home with Calypso atop Festus, and decides to stop and treat her for the night.)

He had imagined countless ways Ran might find out the truth over the past eight months—his mind playing out scenario after scenario during sleepless nights and long car rides, when she'd been sitting barely half a metre away from him, entirely oblivious to whom she was really with, to who Conan truly was. He had formulated speeches, defences, entire arguments in his head, making a list of all the ways he could lose her after choosing not to be honest with her on that fateful day.
None of those scenarios had even been remotely as horrible as reality turned out to be.
Or: Conan turns back into Shinichi, and Ran discovers the truth.

He won in some ways, lost in others; the Black Organization is gone, and they took any hope of an antidote down along with them. The world is safe for Kudo Shinichi to come back - but physically trapped as Edogawa Conan, he can't. So he tells Ran the truth to give them both closure, so she can go back to her high school life, and him to this new one.
...He isn't expecting Ran to resist, and he doesn’t expect to find himself actually having a little hope, and going along with her terrible plan of reclaiming his life, damn the physicality. It’s absurd, though - how could the tiny Edogawa Conan fill the gaps Kudo Shinichi left behind?

“Nice, are you okay?” Smile’s voice is close, “Talk to me. Is it hurting you? Are you okay?”
He doesn’t speak. He’s not sure he can.
“Oh, it’s way too late for him,” Dragon Boy says, “I can’t believe that idiot killed himself with his own weapon. That’s fucking hilarious.”
