Along their travels, Zhongli Quan and Han Xiangzi run into some reoccurring trouble. A pair of martial artists have their eyes on him who seem suspicious of them. Zhongli Quan wants to get away, but fate brings them to be acquaintances. Staying light and quick on his feet, Zhongli Quan can't help but keep an eye on the blue robed martial artist. Summary
Lü Dongbin’s hands come up to grip around his arms. “Zhongli Quan,” he repeats when Zhongli Quan doesn’t reply immediately. “Zhongli Quan, are you alright?”
“I’m al—” Zhongli Quan starts.
Iron pieces his nose, sharp and fresh. Alarmed, he looks down.
A patch of red darkens the sky-blue of Lü Dongbin’s robes, spreading slowly. The grip around his arms slacken.
Or: Lü Dongbin gets gravely injured, and Zhongli Quan must find a way to save him.

Summary
“Finish the story and we’ll figure it out,” Zhongli Quan says confidently. “I want to hear the full thing now, from you. Right?”
That’s what he promised, back when Zhongli Quan found him lying on that rooftop months after the whole storm with the Yuxu Lantern blew over, and they caught up over steaming noodles. He didn’t know what compelled him to ask, “Do you want to hear about the truth?” and what compelled Zhongli Quan, even more surprisingly, to agree. Like Shānlǔzuǒdé promising Arabian night tales, he thought.
He has minimal experience telling the grotesque and horribly revealing truth, though he delights in being able to pull back the layers. When he opens his mouth, he wants something of substance to come out, but he doesn’t know quite what.
