Summary
Everything Castiel is, everything he’s made of, is hitched to a thin golden string attached to Dean Winchester’s soul, tugging him closer, begging him to let them collide.
He recalls Aristophanes’ story of creation; the one in which humans were split in two as a divine punishment, forever in search of their other half.
Cas is not human, but he understands the sentiment.
_____
In which Dean is finally in a world without impending catastrophe, but it's also a world without Cas. He spends all day fighting not to think about it, and at night, his sleep is haunted by grief. But then his dreams start to feel more and more real, and no grave can hold Cas down.

Summary
The stories are old, passed down in whispers by people who knew better than to ask too many questions: Men go into the winter woods and don’t come back. There are no bodies, no tracks. Just silence, and the sense that something noticed.
Some say the land keeps count, that it remembers every boundary crossed, every line ignored. That it takes only what is owed.
No one agrees on what she is, only that when the woods go silent, you should already be gone.
Of course, Dean Winchester has never met a warning he didn't ignore…

Summary
“Promise me.”
A snap of the fingers. Dean’s still not used to that. The way that it’s so easy to just materialize stuff for Gabriel. It makes sense though, he is an angel, and angel’s do have absurd powers.
He holds out two rings.
“Only if you promise me something in return.”
“What’s with the rings?”
“A failsafe,” Gabriel answered, “Swear it over the rings, and the deal is set permanently. It’s a bit more hygienic than a kiss, no? You won’t even owe me your soul.”
