Minho could have never expected to end up where he was right now. He was constantly stuck in an infinite loop of pain and suffering and no one could save him, or could they? He had already been through so much he wasn't ready to trust anyone again. He was better off being an insensitive, lonely monster that nobody liked to approach.
After all he was just a co-product of his horrible darkness and past that kept encasing him all day long reforming him into this compassionless monstrous beast that didn't look like a man anymore.

Towards the end, he just kept repeating "what is wrong with me?" while he stained Mary's top with tears as she held him in strong arms.
