Summary
The war between Earth and Krypton left both planets bleeding. In need of an end, Humanity and the Kryptonians agree to a peace, one to be sealed by a contract: a marriage contract to be precise.
On Earth, Batman volunteers to jump on the grenade before anyone else. He has to end this war and protect his children.
On Krypton, Kara-El volunteers as a peace offering. However, Kal-El has some objections to his baby cousin marrying a violent Earth general, so he suggests an alternate plan.
Ultimately, taking down General Zod and his war-mongering was always going to take the joint efforts of two men, who, in a another universe, are all but brothers, even if, in this one, they have every reason to be enemies.Bookmarked by La_Marmota

“Yes, dad, my apologies. I was just thinking over the case. I will be over at the station in a bit.” Light assured his father, absently noticing the way his voice had habitually returned to the soft spoken, sweet tones his family was used to. He’d been told he would have been an incredible actor or a phenomenal politician, if only it weren’t for-
“Very well. Please take a cab, Light, it’s been raining all day. It’s too slippery for you to venture out to the station by yourself, even with Winston next to you. Who knows what could happen” Yes, he would have been an amazing actor, politician or whatever else he would have put his mind to, if only it hadn’t been for the disability everyone loved to remind him of. His blindness.
Trying to ignore the unpleasant returning tension in his chest, Light tightened his grip on Winston’s harness. He was going to meet L again, after so many years…He didn’t know what he even hoped for.
For the detective to recognize him or treat him like a complete stranger. Whatever happened, he would just have to wait and see.

Light wasn’t sure how or why it had happened. Tsuki was a stillborn baby. He was, for all intents and purposes, dead. He didn’t exist for anyone else, aside from Light himself. There was no one else who could see, hear or touch him. Tsuki, himself, couldn’t interact with the material world too much without using tremendous amounts of energy that left him weak and translucent, edges blurring into the background for hours afterwards.
And yet, he had grown up right by Light’s side for all these years.

“Is that why you dropped this? To see what a human would do with it?”Ryuk rolled over on his back and fixed those bulbous red eyes on the twins, the image somehow even more disturbing upside down.
