    Summary

The first clue had been the silence.

Don’t get him wrong; Ash was very aware that Ewron was able to stay quiet when the situation needed it — as rarely as that occurred. This was empty, almost neglectful. A silence that meant nothing.

They stood in the middle of the ocean, a fair distance away from the shore of the Regime — its silhouette still visible in the horizon. Each had brought their own boat, per custom, one red, one lavender; the gentle push of the waves rocking them into the familiar comfort.
But Ewron wasn’t familiar anymore, and the ripples could not loosen the knot in Ash’s throat nearly enough to let him breathe.

    -

A short AU/Canon Divergence where Ewron's not quite himself, as far as Ash could tell.

    Summary

“Who gets university kids to take care of egg babies?”

“Ink,” Pran says, catching on. “How many eggs have you broken.”

“...Four. If you break this one, I have a carton of eggs in my car and we can replace it before my darling girlfriend finds out.”

You’re keeping eggs in your car?

Or: Pa has to raise an egg baby for a class assignment, and comes to find that sometimes it takes a village.

    Summary

The day Pat Jindapat, Thailand’s top eligible bachelor and heir to the massive Jindapat Group, announces his sudden engagement the country goes up in flames.

Okay, maybe Pran’s exaggerating, but it’s no joke to say that the world around them just - explodes. The company’s stocks spike, and as expected the internet goes buckwild; Pat’s name hasn’t left Twitter’s top trends in Thailand since his tweet announcing his engagement, and reporters from every single major news outlet have rushed over to wait by the doors to the company headquarters just so they can hopefully catch a glimpse of Pat and somehow get him to explain why on Earth he’s marrying -

“I saw the news,” Ink says when she picks up. She sounds amused, because of course she does, and Pran fights down the hysteria that bubbles up in him at the reminder of why, exactly, he dialed her in a panic the moment he was free to have a moment to himself.

“So, when were you going to tell me that you’re engaged to Pat Napat Jindapat?”

Or: Pat, Pran and a fake engagement.

    Summary

It's just casual sex, Pran tells his friends whenever they would ask, we've agreed to no strings attached — so there's no need to "officially" meet him.

It's always easier to explain it this way, to make sense of their situation in a light-hearted and fun way instead of the constant niggling at the back of Pran's head that this will end in a thoroughly expected shit-show and his heart broken in two. And yet when he puts his game face on in public, in front of his friends, it's a script he works off of: it's new, it's exciting, and it doesn't mean anything (it means everything to Pran).

But since when has Pran ever been able to stay casual about Pat anyway?

    Summary

Pran had always used being smart as his first and best line of defense. Intelligence was not just a talent; it was architecture. A shield, yes, but also a carefully engineered structure he could step behind when the world grew too loud, too curious, too demanding. Smart people did not get cornered. Smart people did not falter under pressure or allow careless teasing to herd them into lies so flimsy they trembled the moment someone leaned too close. And smart people certainly did not invent imaginary lovers to fill the sharp silence of an awkward lunch table.

Or: what if Pat had been more perceptive, and Pran had been a little braver?
