Stolas is seventeen and sees his wedding approaching, the only thing that helps him push through the dread this inspires him is sneaking out of the palace, simply to walk around, clear his mind, be away from it all if only for a little while.
Blitzø is eighteen and finally getting back on his feet after the fire that took everything from him, but he is still struggling and alone.The two cross paths unexpectedly, at a party in town during one of Stolas’s escapades, and instantly remember each other from when they met as kids. Their reconnecting will change the course of both of their lives.

Summary
Written for Stolitz Week 2025 Day 2 - Prompt : Mortality
Stolas is slowly settling into his new life with Blitzø after the trial and trying to cope with his estrangement from Octavia. This change doesn't come without adjustments and realizations, the toughest of which being the fundamental difference between him and his lover and new friends. They were mortals.
As he tries to make sense of it and appease his fears, he comes to question his own immortality and the meaning of it all. Thankfully, Blitzø is here to offer support.

Spending so much of his life isolated and shackled by the expectations of the Goetia, there's a lot of things Stolas missed out on and didn't get to experience.
Thanks to Blitzø, Stolas has been able to start living freely and experiencing so many new things he never imagined.

How the hell do you avoid an arranged marriage?
Become a priest and marry God instead! Decide to flee from your family, have a couple identity crisis as a closeted gay young man, become a perfect example as a cleric, be too nice, end up as a the lapdog of an Archbishop, be successful but exhausted, get too friendly with the church wine, enter the mid 30s depression, fuck-up everything you constructed until this point, get promoted to Bishop as an excuse to be secretly banished to a weird ass town in the middle of nowhere…. and meet Blitzø, the annoying love of your life.
Stolas' plan at 10 years old of becoming a priest to avoid marrying Stella was absurd from the start, but he never expected what he would find when he arrived at Holy Water town as the new Bishop. Nobody trained him to do exorcisms!

"Oh." That was unexpected. "He's never celebrated. Apparently, rich fucks don't do anything fun. Just pretend he's... celebrating Sloth right now." That's probably the most any of them will get out of him for the day, but he's more than happy to tell Stolas that it's still a form of celebration. The circus used to travel through all of the rings, and Blitzø can remember celebrating Sinsmas with some napping and lethargy over the years.
Moxxie shuffles his feet. "It's not so much how he's celebrating," he begins, looking like he's working very, very hard to choose his words carefully. "It's how... uncomfortable he seems with our celebrations."
OR: The gang find out the extent of Stella's abuse and plot a murder.
