Summary
Light glimmers through the window as the sun sets in the distance. The stillness and serenity of it grounds Loki as his shaky fingers grip Gungnir, his father's(?) spear, and the symbol of Asgard's king. 𝘏𝘪𝘮.
Loki needs the cloud and fuzz of disbelief to leave his brain so he can 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬. But thinking bring tears to his eyes so Loki sits here, curled up in his window seat watching the sun set, alone.
Because who else is there for him to go to? Odin fell into the Odinsleep to moment things got uncomfortable. Frigga, his mother and one of the only people he truly trusted, lied to him his entire life. And Thor was gone, banished, at the time Loki needed him most.
And the worst part was that all of it felt like Loki's fault. Now here he was, King of Asgard, on the brink of war for the first time in centuries and he didn't know what to do or even who to trust.
But at least that was familiar. He'd figure it out, alone, like he'd always done. Because at the end of the day, he could trust himself, right?
...
Or, Thor 1 but Loki is the main character and protagonist, the people around him are 3 dimensional and there are consequences for people's actions. This... changes things.

Summary
Danny Phantom lands softly in the janitor’s closet. The thermos that sits in his hand is a little fuller than when he left the very same closet several minutes ago.
With a tired sigh, Phantom slides down the wall as a sharp flash of light washes over him. In the same spot the ghost was seconds ago, Danny Fenton sluggishly reaches for his phone and pulls up live footage from the fight he had just won.
The only thing to show for his victory is the thermos in his hand and the wound bleeding down his side.
(I consider this a companion work to “A Laugh Between Friends,” but both stand just fine by themselves.)

Summary
To no one else's surprise, Jack & Maddie's grand project, a portal to the realm of ghosts, doesn't work.
What is a surprise is how hard they take. Danny & Jazz can't recall an instance that they didn't bounce right back up after a failure.
Now it been a week of moping. In an attempt to lift their parent's spirits, Danny & Jazz decide to try and fix the portal themselves.
It wasn't supposed to go horribly wrong; Danny & Jazz didn't even expect to get it working!
Well... hopefully with their parent's attention fixed on their brand new ghost portal, the two ghost hunters won't notice the two ghost now living under their roofs.

Adrien has mastered the art of the smile. Even while his mind is on poor behavior, when he's caught beneath a barrage of unkind thoughts to himself, he's still able to keep his smile. Attend his friends' parties, maintain small talk, get through the day — and hopefully his friends won't realize how messed up he really is.
Everyone is out-pacing him. While he's barely getting out of bed in the morning, his friends are making waves, changing lives, getting engaged.
He can't even get his girlfriend to text him back.
So, sure. Maybe he's not in the best head space right now — but 'suicidal'? Ladybug's certainly just reading too deeply into things. But if her concern for Chat Noir's mental state is enough to get her reaching out, well, he won't turn down the opportunity to chat with a friend. Besides, Ladybug seems to be having a rough go of it, too. Maybe they can help each other out.

After faking his death in the Dark World Loki is free to do what he wants. Instead of leaving everything behind Loki is driven by his thirst for revenge and won't find peace before he destroyed every single one of the Avengers. This time though he won't use violence, but the weapons of the God of Mischief: trickery, deceit and illusion. Loki decides to befriend the Avengers. However they won't know it's him. “Loki, thank the Norns,” he cried, rushing forward to embrace him in a bone-crushing hug, “Where in the Nine have you been? ”
“What are you on about, Thor?” he was so confused he forgot to struggle, “You’re acting as if I’ve been gone for decades.”
Thor pulled back and set upon Loki a look. His heart dropped.
“No,” he whispered, “Please, no, don’t tell me that-”
“No! Nothing quite that long!” Thor rushed to assure, but his expression dropped once more, “But, Gods, Loki, you can’t just disappear like that without telling anyone. Mother and Father were so worried, they thought you had…had fallen between the ways between worlds.”
“I was not gone for that long, was I?” Now he was growing concerned, Thor’s behavior was scaring him.
Thor fixed him with that same look.
“Brother?”
“Loki, you were gone for five years. ”

Thor returns to Earth a month after the Chitauri invasion to keep his promises -- to see Jane again, and take her to see Asgard, even if the rainbow bridge is still undergoing repairs. Not that Jane is complaining about watching the repairs. But she wasn't expecting Loki to be haunting the palace library, even in psychiatric care; and Loki wasn't expecting to make friends with Thor's mortal girlfriend.
