“You’ll always be safe with me.” Jeongguk went ahead and declared to the Omega, something whose implications probably he didn’t understand himself because forever was a really long time and their ruse was to end in a month and a half.
Jeon Jeongguk was the regular young Alpha. Except he was rich, widely popular as the hottest unmated Alpha among the notorious tabloids and had a soon-to-be CEO reputation to his name. With life being an impeccable blueprint, Jeongguk just wanted to focus on his work.
The speed-bump comes in the way of his parents insisting on arranging a mating for him which he absolutely couldn't accept and he lies to already having an Omega.

Sometimes the people recruited at the Muster would return to their village. They were always different - colder, more authoritarian. Skillful recruits became soldiers and some, like Jimin’s father, would just disappear. Working in the provinces was strenuous, but being drafted was worse. So when Jimin had presented as an omega, he and his grandmother were relieved, not only because it meant that his chances of being drafted were slimmer, but also because up until then, it had been unclear what he would present as. "Was it really worth it?"
Jeongguk can no longer count how many times he asked himself that exact question. The answer had always been clear because, yes, of course it was. If given the choice, he would make the same decisions all over again. The consequences of his actions are laid out in front of him like an ominous deck of cards and the universe asks him to choose a path which, he knows, will inevitably seal his fate.
He puts one hand on the red silk band spanning around his hips, partially covering his black leather pants. With the other, he takes the dagger resting on the jade green satin pillow of the bed, abandoning the gold coins thrown all over the sheets. He looks at Taehyung and smirks, lifting the dagger like a trophy before pointing the tip of the blade at his friend's head.
"It was." He says. "It was worth every second we wasted and every drop of blood we tasted on our tongues. My little treasure will repay it all. Tenfold."
