"Tell them you didn't know."
"I did know."
"No, you didn't!" Isis cried. "Tell them that he tricked you, o-or threatened you! You couldn't have— I refuse to believe my baby brother would willingly—"
“I wouldn't have met your requirements anyway," Malik said, shocking her into silence. "See, I’ve already chosen a king to swear my life to.” He raised his head, smiling ruefully as tears pooled near the corners of his eyes. “And unfortunately, it isn’t the one sitting on that throne.”

Summary
Thief King lives. He has a lot to answer for, and not many answers.
"Redemption" is an ugly word, and a false one. As a term it implies a set beginning and end, that someone is keeping track, that one day you will have done enough and simply wake up, forgiven. This is a lie. There is no great list of your evils to be crossed off one by one, if there's even such a thing as evil. There is only living, and tomorrow.

Summary
“Anyway,” Zoro continued amid Sanji’s silence, “I’m not going to die.”
Sanji made a scoffing sound. “You can’t just decide that, asshole,” he said, tying off the thread. He trailed his fingertips over the jagged seam, checking for any imperfections. “You can’t cheat death.”
“We’ll see.”
To Sanji, Zoro is an enigma. An infuriating one, but one he is drawn to nonetheless. For as much self-assurance Zoro appears to have, Sanji has about as much self-doubt. If he can just understand what goes on inside that mossy head of his, maybe he can figure a few things out about himself as well.
Discovering that there might be something other than rivalry brewing between them, is something Sanji isn't quite prepared for.
(Rated M for explicit language, canon-typical violence and sexual content for later chapters).

Summary
When Viktor finally asks why Jayce stayed behind inside the Anomaly with him, Jayce stares at him as though he’s supremely disappointed by the question— as if Viktor has betrayed his own brilliance by asking something so irredeemably stupid. “How could I not? We’re partners.”
Partners, Jayce calls them. Not for the first time, Viktor wonders: Partners in what?
*
Or: Jayce and Viktor survive the Hexcore, a blizzard, their own bodies, sharing a bed and all the things they’re too afraid to say. Slowly, they put themselves back together— piece by stubborn piece.
