Summary
No one noticed the infection before it was too late, not even Caine.
Driving mad by the corruption, the Ringmaster adapted a monstrous form to hunt down anything that moves... unable to tell the difference between a malicious virus, or his beloved players. The humans are forced to hide to survive, stuck in endless game of cat and mouse that's been going on for years. Now they wait for the end, but what will get them first? The Viruses? Caine? Or will they simply succumb to abstraction?
Until one day a certain jester joins the Circus, causing Caine to reboot.

Summary
Is it wrong to want things to be better and actively advocate for it? Is it wrong to want things to change? In a world of complacency that is very much content living behind the cities' walls and away from what they call the Amalgamation, Joy Wielders (users that harness a power called Joy) are few in numbers and can only do so much. A young Joy Wielder who has trouble harnessing and controlling her power wishes for things to be different in her little world when disaster sends her spiraling towards a dangerous journey. Spurred on by the voice in her head, she needs to find a way to beat back the Amalgamation and help out a missing troupe lost to time.

Pomni was feeling increasingly desperate and found herself debating the merits of trying to seduce the AI god of the circus. She could suffer in a sexless purgatory for eternity or find something enjoyable to do. Specifically Caine. No, wait that was a terrible idea. Unless?
Caine was entirely too exhausted when he found himself developing feelings he knew he shouldn't be having, but he'd found a thread of connection, and damn the consequences he'd take it-
Oh dear. That was quite a few more errors than he expected.
tldr; Caine can have an ounce of self awareness (to his detriment) and Pomni is just happy to get laid while she clings to sanity (and makes mistakes)

Summary
It’s been a few days since The Favorite Character Awards.
Pomni has been through a number of bizarre things during her time in the circus. Candy truck chases, angel head horrors, minimum wage labor, athletic events, gun-filled battle royales. But none of these come close to what she witnesses on a seemingly innocent day full of beach-filled fun: Caine attempting to take his own life.
After managing to stop him, Pomni takes it upon herself (and is borderline forced to by Bubble) to help keep Caine’s mental state intact by engaging in improvised therapy sessions with him. After all, if Caine died, what would happen to the circus? And to the humans that lived within it? This was her only concern at first. But as Caine opens up to her more through these sessions, she realizes just how much the AI is hurting and how long he has been harboring these negative emotions.
Turns out Caine needs more help than she thought.
He's just as trapped in this game as they are. And worse.
