The sudden loss of contact has Steve reeling for a moment or two. By the time he looks up, his dragon’s eyes are two pools of molten gold, their glow outshining that of the moon behind him. Steve’s throat goes dry and his cock twitches between his legs.
“You wanna see it? I’ll show it to you, you little tease.” Eddie’s voice has dropped into that low, gravelly rumble that Steve is all too familiar with. His smile has gone wicked, and the skin along his spine is beginning to crawl and twitch, wings and tail shivering with it.
“Eddie?” Steve’s voice is a barely there rasp, too thin around the rapid thump of his heartbeat in his throat. He feels like a tiny animal caught in the gaze of a predator, and the thought sends white-hot sparks of pleasure-fear running down his spine. “What are you-”
Eddie kisses him, quick and hard. His fangs, sharper and longer already, catch on Steve’s bottom lip. The moan that bubbles from his throat tastes like copper.
“Run,” Eddie whispers.

Eddie chuckles hollowly. He hangs up (Steve never hangs up first) and slides down his bed. That doesn't feel low enough, so he slides down to the floor. He blinks up at the ceiling, watches it swim, and wishes the linoleum floors would swallow him up and eject him back in Indiana.
Jesus H. Christ who would have thought he'd wish he were back in Indiana?
There's a knock at his door.
"Come in!" Eddie calls out as Gareth enters without waiting for permission.
"What are you doing on the floor?"
"Straightening my old man back," Eddie says.
"Why are you crying?"
"Gare, can you please buy me dinner before attempting to penetrate my psyche? That's like fifth base man."
