Summary
Weiss Schnee had expected to feel nothing after she died.
She’d always imagined death as an infinite plane of inky black, devoid of anything. There would be no time to pass or sights to see, there would be only the complete lack of everything. In that place there would be no difference between eternity and a second.
In the brief moment she was aware during the transition between life and death, she heard a voice that was familiar but just beyond the reach of her collapsing memory.
“Again,” the voice commanded, leaving no room for interpretation.
Weiss felt her consciousness being ripped apart in a brief flash of pain.
And then she died.
Except she didn’t…

It’s silent, utterly and completely, silent.
She huffs, gasps, in and out, over and over and over as she attempts to unscramble the mess that is her brain.
It’s dark, but not as dark as her room was, and her bed is noticeably less cold.
She keeps huffing for breath, for some reason, it feels as if her heart is attempting to escape her chest, like each heaving motion can’t bring in enough oxygen for her lungs. She gasps and splays her hands across her chest in an attempt to feel the rising and falling and convince herself that she’s okay, that she’s all in one piece.
But she can’t hear anything else.

Notes: Great fic, very well written. Love how Ruby, Blake, and especially Yang, look out for her. Jacques is really awful in this, gotta love it. Depictions of panic attacks are very well done, don't read on a bad day.

Eren may be formless and lacks discipline, but in his eyes burns an uncontrollable passion. Like he’s bigger than his own body. That’s what’s attractive about him. Compared to him, Mikasa just pisses her off. She can’t place a finger on why. Mikasa just does.
