He had never owned good things anyway. At least now racing got him some money but still Charlie owned nothing, he never thought a day like this would arrive. He believed he could have one good thing in his life and that he could get to keep it, that he could keep Babe, but it was in vain. It was a mistake to begin with. A fairytale Charlie made himself believe in.
