Bruce skidded to a halt, breath hissing through his teeth.
Superman’s head came up sharply, like the sound of Bruce’s shock still meant something to him—and it was Clark, but he was different. Different lines on his face, a subtly different curl to his hair, and as he looked Bruce up and down his eyes blew wide.
Bruce’s hand dropped immediately to his belt, a chill sweeping through him. “Not our Kal.”

Bruce and Clark have been in a relationship since the founding of the Justice League almost twenty years ago. When the League tries to bring in a thief with stolen reality-shifting technology, Clark is accidentally exchanged with his counterpart from a universe that's almost identical—except he's married to Lois. And they have a son.As each side scrambles to swap their Clarks back, Bruce and Clark find themselves grappling with new questions about their life together, faced with the possibility of things having gone differently for not just the two of them, but their children—the ones they have, and the one they've never met. Along the way, they do their best not to to blow up their counterparts' lives by dredging up any long-buried feelings. (They may or may not succeed at that last.)

Absolutely beautiful alternate universe Superman swap fic. Incredible characterizations across the board, intensely satisfying interactions and emotional processing, explores a more familiar canon from the POV of a Bruce and Clark that have been in love and living together for most of the past 20 years, and the things that have been different because of that. Lois is wonderful, I am always heartbroken over Jason, and everyone agrees that those things are correct.

Summary
Post-JL 2017, Bruce and Clark are starting to figure each other out. Clark's also starting to think he wants to get to know Bruce a lot better than either of them expected.
And then, to help the dangerously depleted ranks of the Green Lanterns collect evidence against an intergalactic slave trader, they have to go undercover: Clark as the Kryptonian overlord who conquered Earth and has proven able to hold it against even the incursions of the New Gods of Apokolips ... and Bruce as the pride of his personal collection, a human warrior he subdued and trained himself. Which means Clark has to pretend he really is the nightmare Bruce once believed he would be, and he also has to keep it together in the face of leading a collared, naked Bruce around on a chain—when all he's starting to realize he actually wants is to get on his knees for Bruce instead.

So this is kinda exactly what I want out of a master/slave undercover fic - namely both characters pulling it off amazingly well and they're both very much switches about all of it because those power dynamics be fluctuating, and at least once of them is having an identity crisis over how Into Certain Elements of It they are. Also there is tension and friendship and competency and humor 💖

He sighed to himself and downed the glass of champagne he'd been nursing—non-alcoholic, but enough to convince anyone who might give him a passing glance. He hated this, every time he had to do it. There was one surefire way to derail anyone who began wondering whether maybe Bruce Wayne was doing more than just donating funds to Batman.
His tie hung loose around his neck, shirt unbuttoned to halfway down his chest, laughing too easily, pressing close to everyone he spoke to, whispering in ears, playing the part, until he turned and froze on the spot.
Clark Kent, in his signature ill-fitting suit, stood holding a notebook and pen, staring at him with barely-concealed glee.
Bruce cringed internally. He hated this. He especially hated when it had to be witnessed by someone he actually respected.
or: After a Gala, Bruce and Clark end up in bed together. They're friends, just helping each other out, no strings attached. Which would be great, if Bruce hadn't been halfway to head-over-heels since the day they met.

The casual sex to oh-no-we're-in-love pipeline featuring these two disasters. Very cute, very sweet, very hot, with steadily increasing amounts of angst threading through all of it till it gets really bad and then disappears entirely. Lots of good family/friend support.

Summary
In another universe, a much darker version of Batman has been holding Superman captive for a year.
In this one, Bruce was only planning to neutralize an interdimensional threat. He didn’t plan on a rescue mission. He didn’t plan to take home a hurt, broken captive who may or may not be a version of the Clark Kent he knows. But now that he has, he needs to figure out what to do with him without putting the whole planet at risk.
It takes Clark a while to realize he hasn’t just traded one abuser for another, more dangerous one.
