“Bleeding.” Claire brings her chubby little hand up to point at his forehead.
Henry touches his cold fingers to his forehead, realizing the bandage he’d placed over his eyebrow has been bled through. He thinks he’s got more in the center console. He hopes.
“Daddy’s alright,” he assures her, finally snapping the buckle together over her puffy pink coat. He gives her the best smile he can muster. “Ready to go for a drive?”
Claire nods at him, big blue eyes inquisitive as he palms her hair, thumb brushing blonde locks off her forehead. “Where’s we goin’?”
“Somewhere better,” he says, and closes the back door tight.

“First off, nothing has to rise to the level of therapy, there’s no threshold for misery,” Alex says, parroting the words his therapist has told him about half a million times. “But no, I wasn’t thinking about therapy.” Henry raises a brow. “I was thinking we try party drugs.”
