He stood like that for a while. Staring at him. Dark eyes watching him back. It was quiet all around them. The kind of shared quietness you only get in a few instances.
He had somewhat expected Schlatt to have already kicked him out by now. But he had not. For reasons Quackity didn’t care much for.
The whole situation felt tender, in a way. Despite the fact he had only been there for the shorter end of ten minutes. Such an unexpected thing, for him to be using a word with that significance to describe a moment he’s sharing with Schlatt. So much so he would’ve laughed at it, if he wasn’t actively in the situation. Maybe later he’d think back to tonight with regret, shamed by his own foolishness for believing he could have even a second of compassion with the man he unwittingly loved.
