Summary
He gave Daemon the biggest whelk shell he found, pale pink and cream and kept the whole calico scallop shell for himself. He'll ask if his mother could have it made into jewelry. Daemon remained at Driftmark for a fortnight, spending as much time as possible with Duncan. He eventually had to leave, saying good bye to Duncan, kissing him deeply and rubbing his scales against Duncan's.
In the moons that he was away, Duncan learned more of being a Queen, so he can properly rule beside Daemon. He learned more about his father, their father, he learned. Daemon was his half-brother by his father, Aegon. The last king. The new king was also his half-brother, Daeron. He wanted to meet him as well, but his mother denied him.
"Daeron will hate you," she hissed, pulling his hair tightly as she brushed it. He whined but said nothing else. He didn't really believe that. He couldn't imagine one of his brothers hating him. Daemon loved him. Why wouldn't Daeron?
