“It’s bullshit, right?” Takemitchy blurts out suddenly, blue eyes wide and desperate even as he hitches up his shoulders with a gasp of pain. “It’s bullshit and impossible and I’m a liar. You don’t have to — I mean you won’t—”
“Shut up, Takemitchy,” Chifuyu says, rubbing a hand over his forehead. Takemitchy keeps looking at him like he’s waiting for Chifuyu to just up and leave, and he can’t stand it. “It’s fine. I mean, it’s not fine,” he adds when he gets an incredulous look, “and it sounds like bullshit, sure, but people who’re lying don’t sound like that. And… it may be hard to believe, but you aren’t.”
Or, Takemichi and Chifuyu discover the seven wonders of Shibuya, tend to each other's wounds, technically do not commit any crimes, and learn how to trust each other. Not necessarily in that order.

“You were in the ambulance with Ken-chin,” Mikey says. He begins wrapping the bandages around Takemichi’s hand. “The doctors said he coded there. That his heart stopped. Because he moved suddenly and tried to talk, and that was too much stress.” He looks up, then, black holes for eyes. Takemichi shoulders the gaze. “He talked to you.”
“He did,” Takemichi answers softly. The good arm that’s wrapped around the pillow he’d picked up clenches around it. He already knows what the question is, but he lets Mikey ask it anyway.
“What did he say?”
“He talked about you,” Takemichi replies, simply. “You’re his brother. Why would he talk about anything else?”
Or, people seem to have the odd habit of entrusting Mikey to him when they're about to die. Takemichi recognizes patterns.

“If you’d killed him, it would mean something", Karma says. “You didn’t kill him, for whatever reason, and that still means something. Of course not everything means something else. I don’t know what it means, either.” He’s quiet for a moment. Then, “That’s up to you to figure out. You didn’t kill him. You’ll have to live with that. Same as you would if you had.”
“Would you think of me differently?” Nagisa asks. His voice sounds flat to his own ears. “If I had?”
“Would you?” Karma asks in turn.
