Summary
He eases the door open carefully. The warm July air hits him like a wave that could drag him under, the constant sound of trees rustling and bugs humming rushing into the shack and flooding his senses. The smell of dense pine and forest earth and damp, inky sky relaxes him, and not for the first time, Stan senses the Feeling ebbing away with the tide. He steps outside, the porch creaking under his feet, and turns to sit on the worn, buggy couch that isn’t his, but that he’s spent more nights than he can count finding solace in.
He’s met, however, not with an empty porch, but with a gun in his face.

Stan was the dumb twin, and he knew it. It was a fact he had been forced to learn very quickly. He was reminded of that fact every single day of his life: Ford was smart, Stan was dumb. Ford was good at things, and Stan was terrible at them. Everyone loved Ford… It’s just the way things were.

Summary
Stanford gets a chance to reconnect with his brother for the first time since the "unpleasantness" of that winter in early 1982. Stanley's been hard at work since then, by the look of things. Healthier. Happier. He mentions a project he's been working on that he thinks Stanford would be interested in. Something that could make the world a better place. And Stanford, well. It's been nearly twenty years since he last saw his brother, and nearly thirty since the two of them had been anywhere near close. Can he be blamed for wanting to put the past behind them? For saying bygones? Especially since it seems like his brother has finally decided to put all that untapped potential to use, just like Stanford knew he could?
