Summary
Azriel has been on a spiral downwards ever since the female he loved died centuries ago. Rhysand and the others have given him so much time to heal on his own. He spent centuries drinking and getting high and starting bar fights until Rhysand had enough and sentenced him to stay in the House of Wind under strict orders until he deems him fit enough to leave. Rhysand only authorized Azriel to leave the House of Wind to attend meetings with Eris, at first.
Eris is often fighting a long battle of producing an heir. Tick Tock, his father has him on a clock. Only fucking females that his father deemed worthy whether he wanted to or not, if not just to avoid a beating. Mother only knows how many more scars can fit on the already mottled and destroyed expanse of his back. Meeting with Azriel once a week seemed to become his only escape.

Summary
Eris's life is bleak. Caught under the thumb of his father, he feels like he is destined to be alone, trapped in a court he hates and unable to find love. When rumblings of a strange threat in Hybern starts to make the courts nervous, he leaps at the chance to escape from Autumn and make a difference. Especially when he finds out that Azriel, the infuriating Illyrian who he definitely does not waste time thinking about, has been given the same task.
Azriel would do anything to make those he loves happy... but that definitely does not include the caustic, aloof heir to the Autumn Court, Eris. But when he and Eris are thrown together against a dangerous threat, Azriel starts to realise that maybe the High Fae isn't the fickle, uncaring creature that he'd always imagined.
This is an epic love story between two fae as they try to save Prythian and avoid falling in love in the process. They are more successful at one of those things than the other.
