Don't talk to strangers, you might get robbed blind; look both ways when crossing a road because getting hit by horse or wagon was not a good start to the day; don't eat or drink weird things you find in the wilderness, because it might be poisoned and you might die. Simple things. Things Arthur had been taught before he even met Dutch and Hosea. Hell, at thirty six years of age, some might think he carried a bit of common sense with him. Apparently not.
Arthur decides to eat a strange looking stew he finds in the middle of nowhere. It’s no surprise that it messes with his head, but all of a sudden he’s in 2025. Oh, and he has a husband now.

John realizes he’s digging himself into a bigger hole than he’d meant to. He runs over his options but when he looks back at Arthur, he can see a tinge of hurt under his curiosity.
“I don’t hook up with truckers,” John says flatly. “I don’t do much hookin' up at all, actually. I just read some signals wrong that night. Thought maybe... Well, you’re a nice man. I knew that since I met you.”
