Summary
What if Jay found herself alone on a busy city street instead of on the holiday of a lifetime. She's been - she just doesn't know that. No, all she can remember is setting off on a plane and hastily formed (and possibly inaccurate) impressions of the other people on it. She certainly has no idea how or why she's here.
Thankfully her memories leading up to the flight are clear; so she remembers Diego, and her phone seems intact. A quick call reaches her equally confused best friend while he's with the rest of the group as they prepare to fly out for the anniversary of her death.
It looks like they won't have to drag Jake to La Huerta afterall. This years reunion should be great right? Except it's really not. How's Jake supposed to react when it's not just that she doesn't just remember their relationship - but seems to actively dislike him?
(This is standalone and not part of the same timeline as my ‘Across the Stars’ universe. The thought struck while I was working on Memories and wouldn't go away until I'd written it.)
