He pulled away from Owen, turning unerringly to look at where he heard the sounds. Too many for deer, and too clumsy. Humans— no vampire would be heard walking through the forest.
Owen heard it at the same moment Louis did, a growl pouring from him that was so cold and furious that it sent a shiver down Louis' spine, his body becoming tense as a cat about to leap.
"Transform," Louis commanded, and Owen turned his eyes from the treeline to him, looking shocked. His mouth was still pulled into a snarl, brows drawn together indignantly.
"What? No—"
Louis tightened his grip on Owen's hair, and put a thrum in his voice that he did not want to use. "Transform, now."

Summary
The curse that had been placed upon him left his body as his own prison, to the fault of some horrid witches. It was absolutely torturous. He had never quite taken the same affinity for counting that vampires often had, but even if he did he likely would've given up keeping track of the passing time long ago regardless. It had been a long, long time.
He could barely feel his own body, all sensations having been completely stagnant to the point of numbness.
