The Chain was bored. This was a very dangerous state for the chain to be in and Warriors knew it. When the Chain was bored things tended to break, get set on fire, go missing, or some combination of all three. So, in order to keep the above from happening the Chain must be entertained. And Wars fortunately (or unfortunately for him) had the perfect solution.

“Designation?” the bounty hunter grinds out.
The answer slips easily out of his lips this time. “CC-2224.”
Boba Fett curses, harsh and quiet. His hands are shaking. “Kote?” he whispers, and his voice breaks on the word.
CC-2224 can hear screaming. The comms are silent, and the room is still, and no one else reacts to the noise. And yet… someone is screaming. He can hear it.
CC-2224 expected another routine stop at the Fortress Inquisitorius, staring unseeingly at identical grey walls while Vader tortured Jedi prisoners far below. He certainly didn’t think he'd be thrown back into his mind, back in time, and dragged along with five children determined to save the galaxy one Mandalorian at a time.

At the time of his stillbirth, when it became clear that Nyx’s power alone could not wrench Zagreus from his fate, the gods of the House of Hades were approached by Chaos, and offered a boon: the prince lives a fruitful, kind eternity within the convergence of time, where even the deft weaving digits of the Fates cannot pluck him out from all that is, was, and will be. His fate is all fates, untethered to any one life. The Lord and Lady of the Underworld cannot find their son, but they can know he lives well.
For as long as Thanatos can remember, it has felt as though the older chthonic gods are mourning someone they will not name. Work is a poor reprieve from the oppressive gloom. In a fit of emotion, Death wanders into the Far Reaches of the Underworld and is met with the warmth of a perfect summer's day.
or: what if time and space were a weird primordial soup concealing Zagreus' defiance of Fate, and Thanatos kept finding him anyway?

At those words, the air in front of him bursts into flames, producing the parchment that Hades had just stamped with his bident-like sigil. The black-inked Greek slips through the sieve of Luke’s attention, only short strings of words banding together to stick out at him.
By this Infernal Contract… I, Luke Castellan, hereby acknowledge the commuted nature of my sentence… in lieu of the Fields of Punishment… the House of Hades… a service ensuring its continued security… indefinite and as needed…
