Championship night was supposed to end with champagne, media quotes and a polite amount of denial. Instead, Max wins his fifth title by a single point and spends the entire race and the entire afterparty painfully aware that the only reason he’s even still in the fight is wearing Ferrari red and defended like his life depends on it.
Charles just wanted to do his job, keep Lando behind and get through the night without making a fool of himself over the newly crowned world champion he’s been half in love with since karting.
