Summary
In the aftermath of the events at the Historical Society, Camila and Vee must come to terms with living with each other with Vee as her true self. This had been easy at camp. The performance, the quiet recalibrating for the situation, the slow learning process afforded by being the sort of kid who needed a Reality Check. Pretending to be Luz was easy where no one knew her. But her mother? Her mother was sitting across from Vee and Vee felt trapped.
Not because she was doing it wrong. She could play the part well enough, provided she was paying attention. No, Vee felt trapped because Luz’s mother was sitting across from her and was being so incredibly kind to her, kind in a way no one ever had before, and Vee was stealing that kindness from Luz. Vee hadn’t done anything to deserve it. She was a literal monster.

Luckily, between her and Hunter, they managed to deflect, block, or distract from the worst of it.

(inspired by the many tiktok comments under heartbreaking mlm ship edits going "do they know it's legal now?" I'm here to propose that no, Bucky does not know it's legal now. nobody really talks about the legalization of gay marriage anymore when you really think of it. it doesn't change too much but it's kind of funny that he just...doesn't know).
A short-ish getting together fic where Sam convinces Bucky to go on a mini roadtrip through Texas, through which he finally finds out that gay marriage is legal.
