Having not read it, I predict that ‘evil’, as used here, means ‘mildly sadistic+not feminist’
Edit: Just read first chapter, and it is as I thought. The ‘evilshinji’ tag is pious posturing. Author discovered the Manosphere and is writing a fanfic with one hand.
Edit Edit: Some chapters in, I suspect author to be a woman. Shinji not closing is against most advice of Game but consistent with the female fantasy of mating dance. As well, he shifts between ‘dark triad’ and ‘mildmannered milksop’ nearly at random.

However, The Endless Desert always takes at least five days to cross, and others wander within. It's merely bad luck that they run into one particular mortal who was never supposed to be here, confused by his location and furious about his lack of metal.
