There are so many things that Leona would rather be than rescued by a human. He lists them in his mind silently while he waits for the stinging ache to subside. Dead, for example. A herbivore for the rest of his life. Having all of his limbs cut off. Sentenced to prison. Dead again.
He voices all of this out loud to the human, by the way. Especially the dead part.
“Sure,” the human answers calmly as he swipes a burning liquid - something cold and prickly - against Leona’s wound. The smell of it is offensive, and the lamp flickering next to him is too bright and everything is too much. “There’s a knife in the top drawer of my bedside table and if you drink any combination of chemicals in my lab you’ll probably die. If you want a drawn-out and introspective death, you can always walk out of the door and wander until you find a cliff.”

When Azul was told he was to travel back in time as Yuu, he didn't expect it to have such a literal meaning. Yet here he was, trapped as a girl. Oh, how he dreaded the endless mockery and unsolicited flirtation he'd no doubt receive from teenage boys who thought they were being funny.

The world of villains is strange and unfamiliar to many. Not to the new Ramshackle Prefect. After Chernabog the Devil leave Night Raven in tatters, Azul Ashengrotto, the now ex-housewarden of Octavinelle, is tasked with avoiding the overblots and preventing the apocalypse by taking on the role of the Ramshackle Prefect. This new role of his, however, is far more literal than it seems.

Jamil has a gift: a book that allows him to communicate with the moon. She accompanies him as he discovers the truth about himself and the only octopus he'd rather die than staying with. All of that mixed with the author's obsession over astronomy.
