Summary
This morning Emma can't escape the conversation she has dreaded for months, almost a year. Regina wants to make their relationship official. But Emma can't bring herself to tell her parents, or anyone else, about them.
Regina can't tell if it's because her parents wouldn't accept her or if Emma can't accept herself. In any case, she is always given the same answer: to wait. But this wait reveals the first crack in their relationship, a power imbalance that might just be too great to be right.

Summary
“You said it was bad,” Lena managed to hoarsely respond after a beat too long.
Nodding, Lillian stared up at the ceiling for a moment, her throat bobbing as her lips twisted wryly. “I’m dying. Stage four pancreatic cancer.”
“How long do you have?”
“A month, maybe two.”
“Oh.”

Returning home for the first time in twelve years to the news that her mother is dying, the last thing that Lena wants is to run into the childhood best friend she hasn't spoken to since she left Midvale all those years ago. Especially when said friend was the reason Lena swore she'd never go back home again.
Still harbouring the sting of teenage love and rejection, as well as the pressure of her unsatisfying career and resentment towards her mother, Lena's life is brought to a halt in her hometown as she's forced to confront years of repressed feelings and the truth about what she really wants out of life while waiting for her mother to die.

Summary
As Jacob disappeared into the kitchen, Melissa took Barbara’s pea coat, and Barbara murmured, “There is something wrong with that boy.”
“Be nice,” Melissa said. The inner lining of Barbara’s coat was warm, and it smelled like her. Melissa resisted the urge to bury her face in it. “There’s something wrong with all of us.”

Summary
Kal-el was the first Kryptonian that they knew of. His pod landed in Metropolis at the same time as the UN General assembly to request permission for a Kryptonian ship to land on Earth.
There was some negotiation and then assurances they came in peace and were willing to trade some technology and assistance in return for permission to land somewhere to repair their ships before continuing their journey.
Negotiations were made and the agreement was struck. Much to many leaders disappointment the Kryptonians reportedly did not have weapons or weapons technology to trade but instead offered virtual reality and one team of Kryptonians for a period of fifty years to assist in times of disaster around the world. Two per continent. The agreement was made and the Kryptonian thanked them returning to his pod and leaving.
