Haunted by his supervillainous past, Otto Octavius is trying to do better. Complicating everything is Norman Osborn, who’s gotten it in his head that he and Otto are the perfect match and who isn’t one to take no for an answer (not to mention Otto’s own complicated feelings and wayward desires towards the other man).
On top of that, Otto struggles to come to grips with the superpowers he now apparently has; superpowers that frustratingly enough seem to respond to his emotions rather than his rationale.
Also, no one asked Otto if he’d be interested to play surrogate parent to a teenage superhero in trouble. But, trapped together in a house full of villains, what choice does Otto have but try and look out for the Parker kid?

Summary
After the events of No Way Home, Otto Octavius returns to his own New York; A New York in which his reactor failed, Rosie is dead, and the city happily believes him to be dead too. Otto finds himself alone and without resources - except, of course, the arc reactor he smuggled back into his universe.
He is determined to unravel its secrets (and redeem himself for past misdeeds), but of course, nothing ever goes as planned. After thwarting a few crimes and saving a few people purely by chance, Otto starts to wonder if maybe he has more to offer the city than just his mind.Based off of that tumblr post about Doc Ock accidentally becoming New York’s most reluctant superhero.

Summary
Venom has turned his sights on Otto for reasons the scientist cannot discern, but he has a suspicion it's due to the events which took place while he was under the influence of his own AI. Though he's done his time and has been crime free for years, Venom doesn't seem to think he's innocent enough to not be a fun plaything turned prey. Luckily, Spider-Man is there to help out.
(in this AU Otto does not yet know Spider-Man's real identity, so he and Peter have a pretty normal relationship resembling teacher-student. Things get a little spicy later on when the relationships between him and Peter's alter-ego begin to change, while their battles only begin to heat up.)
