As his finger squeezed the trigger, Elizabeth’s scream of, “NOOOO!” rang in his ears and she shoved herself into the direct path of destruction. A moment of pure fear gripped Victor as his finger did not catch up to the command of his brain to stop squeezing. He felt the trigger compress.
