Ah. The doctor at Shouto’s last appointment, he brought home all these pamphlets about something called a false heat, or false estrus. Shouto explained to him what she told him then, that false heats tend to be uncommon but not unusual, and with Shouto's ancestry and his prime omega status, it made him exceptionally fertile, and bonded, fertile omegas were particularly prone to a false heat.

“French press, huh? Consider me interested,” he replies warmly, and Gavin holds his breath.
“Awesome,” he squeaks out, and spins on his heel.

Summary
Mikasa and Jean have spent the last six months in marital bliss. Jean has dodged work responsibilities that would separate them since their nuptials, but now it has become unavoidable. He will be sent on a work trip for the next three months.
But leaving one another, accepting that responsibility will drive them apart is difficult to accept. Grief, pain, and frustration has bloomed in the space where they hoped a family would.
While it is just goodbye for now, that doesn’t make it any easier.
