Summary
Nix, Fish and Frankie were over the moon when they were told they were chosen by skating legend Victor Nikiforov himself to be taught at his rink in America. But upon arriving, they are informed Victor was asked last minute to be the choreographer for the Olympic US Skating Team and instead, they will be taught by the rink's head coach, who they know nothing about!
Day one finds them meeting an exhausted-looking chunkier Asian man with more scruff than face and black hair tied up in a messy bun. He introduces himself only as Yuuri and immediately gets down to business with a stern, gruff coaching style akin to that of a drill sergeant. Just who is Coach Yuuri and why was he of all people chosen to be head coach?!

“Yuuri,” Mari said in a rush, and she sounded so frazzled, in a way Yuuri wasn’t sure he had ever heard before. “I’m so sorry but… We- we lost Vicchan. We can’t find him anywhere and I-”
“What do you mean-” Yuuri started and then let out a sharp gasp, blinking fastly as he tried to make sense of what he was seeing. Seemingly to appear out of thin air, a large brown standard poodle jumped onto the ice.
The dog barked, and Victor turned towards it, eyes going wide as Vicchan took a few quick steps towards him, jumping up to place his large paws on Victor’s chest. The skater slipped backwards and landed on his butt.
“It seems a large dog has made its way into the arena and is sitting on Viktor Nikiforov?” Yuuri heard one of the announcers say in the speakers, and his heart pounded so hard against his ribs. It wasn’t just him seeing this then. “He seems quite happy about it to be honest.”
