Husk stops there to correct himself. When Angel gets pregnant, things will go back to normal and they'll be happy again.
Following his boyfriend's confession that he wants to start a family with Husk, and the steamy result before a birthday party, things between them have become tense. The stress of trying, and failing, to have a baby feels like it's reaching a head. But Husk is hopeful now that there are signs their wish is coming true.

"You ever think about havin' kids?" Angel blurts out.
To Husk's credit, he keeps a straight face, giving nothing away with his expression. He starts polishing one of the already spotless glasses, something for his hands to do. Angel watches the way Husk's index and middle fingers glide a rag along the inside of the rim—makes him think about how they feel somewhere else.
"Used to—don't anymore. Figured if it ain't happened yet, it's not in the cards."
It's Angel's birthday and he has something on his mind. He's unsure how Husk will take it.
