Summary
Adora Burbank lives what many would consider a fairly average life - a stable desk job, a supportive boyfriend, a house in the Bright Moon suburbs. That’s because her entire life takes place on a massive soundstage, with hired actors playing her loved ones and cameras broadcasting every moment of her day. Now approaching her twenty-fifth birthday, Adora has never left her fabricated island home - and if auteur director Sharon Weaver has anything to say about it, she never will.
Enter Catra, a part-time actor and full-time burnout who can barely afford the rent on her shitty LA apartment. When a lucky break lands her a background role on one of the biggest reality shows in history, she has zero intention whatsoever of rocking the boat. Her job is to get in, blend into the background, and collect her paycheck - the minutiae of Adora Burbank’s life are none of her concern.
Catra's always been good at getting herself into trouble, though. Especially when it runs straight into her.

Until the day she gets a trainee, someone to go along with her to learn the secrets of the steam engine... That would have been well and good hadn't it been for the fact that this... GLIMMER-GIRL... wears a pink ovearall, has pink hair and is... just SO DAMN ANNOYING! So what if Catra is rude to her, it's not like Glimmer likes her anyway!

"So you don't just press your students close and guide their hands like you were cast in Ghost?" Catra says teasingly, swaying ever closer to Adora.
Adora can't help but laugh at the notion. "You saw me teach, you know it doesn't work that way." She rolls her eyes. She then takes Catra's hand, slowly bringing her palm to touch the clay on the workbench. "But I'll tell you what. If we make our pottery lesson next week a date instead, I'm open to it." She teases.
Catra turns her hand so she's holding Adora's hand instead of the clay. "You don't have to try that hard to get a date Adora, but who am I to say no to an offer like that?"
