But with constant reminders of the events at the Heart and the War, immediate work to do in rebuilding Etheria, and whisperings of underground Horde loyalist factions still striving to carry out Prime's will, Adora, Catra, Bow, and Glimmer are forced to face destruction, buried remembrances, and open wounds on their path to a new beginning for Etheria and the larger universe.
A declaration of love freed the Heart, it didn't magically heal away every single wound.

Many short, mostly discontinuous scenes encompassing before, during and after the canonical series. The scenes are arranged into themed acts, and in chronological order. Before the story will be a preface, detailing the layout of the story, and a skeleton timeline.
This is essentially a story about losing control. It is Catra-centric, bittersweet in general tone, and there are consistently several narrative threads running at once (i.e. keeping track of the story requires some brain space).
I would say it's a 20:70:10 split of fluff : angst : other.

With Catra pregnant, hormonal, and slightly impatient (okay, very impatient), Adora promises that this year's Christmas will be calm, peaceful, and free of confusion.
The mission? Survive until December 25 without any crises, interdimensional drama, accidental explosions, or children setting fire to the castle curtains.

Adora doesn't move her hand, but she keeps her touch light enough that Catra can pull away if she wants to. "If you don't feel the same, it'll be alright. But I need you to know." Adora will put on a brave face, even if the thought of not having Catra makes her want to die.
Catra's holding her, one arm wrapped tightly around her waist. "I—fuck." She curses, her voice charged. "Adora, you're my miracle. I can't believe that I found you against all odds. And if I had the chance to save the whole world from these stupid worm aliens but I'd have to give you up—" She sighs. "I wouldn't do it."
Adora's heart thunders in her chest at the declaration. "That's wrong." She points out, but she's smiling as she does it.
Catra smiles back, eyes warm. "Super fucked up, but no less true."
